Back in the Big Field!

Magic and I are back in the large gelding field!      Spring grass is gone, so we get a vacation from the mares.    It was like a homecoming – seeing Finn, Echo Star and the others.   While we talk across the fence, it’s not the same as being together and able to touch noses and groom each other.

Casper came right away to Magic – maybe he was just happy to see another grey horse!   I let him and Porter graze with us a while before chasing them off.

Funny, while the mares drive me nuts, I kind of miss keeping them all in line.  I like to lead!   There is no real leader in the gelding herd (although of course all the guys know who is on top if need be).    There is so much space, and the guys are just different than the mares.   I’m sure Magic and I will go back to lead the mares again at some point, but for now it is great to have a break.

This is Chance’s time to step up!   He has been so focused on Sassy that he hasn’t really tried to lead the whole herd.   He used to be a wild Mustang, so he is certainly capable of running a herd.     Go for it Chance!   We will sort it out when I get back.   Here’s a tip – don’t give Sara an inch.

I am Thor and I am an Equamore Horse.
